The Science Festival 2010

A BIG thank you to everyone who helped make the University of Glasgow Science Festival a huge success!

From 20 May to 14 June 2010 we held our 4th Science Festival.  There were heaps of events for everyone, as well as a massive programme for schools. The festival is now finished for 2010 but the programme will remain on-line for reference.

We gave talks and workshops around the University, on everything from the science of wine to how the world began. There will be events in attractive locations around the city, such as the Botanic Gardens, Pearce Institute and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

We know the University’s tall towers and ancient buildings can seem daunting from the outside. But inside there are lots of friendly people – and many of them are scientists.
It’s a public space too, so you are free to come in anytime – not just when the Festival is on. Take a look at the Hunterian Museum, the oldest public museum in Scotland, now home to a million items from mummies to meteorites.

Stroll around the Hunterian Art Gallery and into one of Scotland’s most popular attractions, The Mackintosh House. Drop in at the Zoology
Museum, eyeball a lizard and be stunned by the diversity of life on Earth.
The University of Glasgow Science Festival aims to show the human face of science and scientists, in a welcoming environment for all the family – mums, dads, children, young people, grans and grandpas.
We love science and we want to share it with you. Come along, join in the fun, help out, learn something new.

And get ready to be amazed.

The University of Glasgow Science Festival is supported by the Scottish Government.
