Light Up Lockdown
With PIADS and Photonics
The Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Photonic Integration and Advanced Data Storage (PIADS) is a partnership between the Irish Photonic Integration Centre, Queen’s University Belfast and University of Glasgow. Aiming to tackle some of the challenges created by the increasing quantities of data generated by today’s society.
PIADS focus is on developing highly-manufacturable photonic integration technologies related to the magnetic storage of digital information. Which will be relevant to a wide spectrum of end-users. E.g. biophotonics, where optical tech is applied to living organisms and health care.
Photonics is the technology of generating and harnessing light (photons), and so all of our GSF videos below have unsurprisingly, light, as a common theme!
If you would like to try the experiments in the videos, the Recipe Cards tell you what you need to have and know. Be very careful if using a laser pointer and follow all safety instructions!
